Pre-K and Elementary School Outreach Overview

The 5 Star Dinner® Early Childhood Wellness Program provides FREE wellness content and to Pre-K and elementary schools, along with FREE tasting events for kids and families through our partnerships with neighborhood grocery stores. The philosophy that drives our mission is that kids don't get enough positive and creative reinforcement around food that is actually good for them. Our school outreach program format uses the amazing world of fruits and veggies to teach the fundamentals of wellness to children in an aspirational way. Our approach is simple. If we make fruits and veggies fun, kids will eat more of them, and if they eat more, they will positively impact their well-being.

Program Benefits to Schools: 1) provides FREE wellness content that enriches the early childhood learning experience from Pre-K to 5th grade, 2) qualifies schools for special grant funding and 3) integrates with Heinen's Teaming Up for Education school donation program (http://www.heinens.com/home/tasteful-rewards/teaming-up-for-education/).

Program Format: 15, 20 or 30 minute presentation options to students across 3 seasons: Fall (Sept/Oct), Winter (Jan/Feb), Spring (May/June).
