Fun Facts
Peaches originated in China, possibly as early as 6000 BC! Emperors loved to eat peaches, and they're still a symbol of good luck, prosperity and longevity. In Hungary, the peach is called the Fruit of Calmness. The first U.S peaches were planted back in 1565 in what is now Florida. There are around 2000 varieties of this drupe, or stone fruit, which can be round or even shaped like a donut, with a pit instead of a hole. Flesh and skin are white or yellow -- and the skin is always soft and fuzzy.
