Fun Facts

You won't find any honey in honeydew melon, but it is the sweetest melon in the world! Honeydew is another name for the White Antibes melon originally grown in southern France and northern Africa. And while we're naming names, in China these 'dews are called Bailan or Wallace melons. On the menu since around 2400 BC, honeydews were revered by the Egyptians and were a favorite of Cleopatra. This sweet, juicy melon can be yellow, white or green on the outside, with orange or pale green flesh hidden within.

Star Power

Eat your water! With around 90% water, honeydew is a great way to help the body stay hydrated. And with almost 70% of the RDA for vitamin C, honeydew also works hard to strengthen the immune system and kill cell-damaging free radicals. Lots of fiber is good for digestion and potassium is important for stable blood pressure. Add vitamins A, B, E and K, plus antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin to help in the fight against free radicals, keep vision sharp, skin healthy and circulation at peak efficiency. Did you know that white-skinned honeydews are sweeter than yellow-skinned honeydews?
